Tournament Bracket Generator

Seed 2–32 entrants, record winners, and print your bracket

Run a single-elimination tournament for players or teams. Enter one name per line.

Up to 80 characters. Leave blank to use “Tournament bracket”.

2–32 entrants, up to 40 characters each. Blank lines are ignored. Add a number to distinguish entrants with the same name.

Bracket order

The first name is seed 1, followed by seed 2, and so on. Top seeds meet in later rounds and receive first-round byes when needed.

Names and results stay in your browser. Closing the page clears the tournament, so save any results you need.

What this tool does

Build a free single-elimination tournament bracket online for a game night, school competition, or office event. Enter 2–32 players or teams, keep a ranked seed order or shuffle the entrants, and let the bracket fill first-round byes automatically. Record the winner of each match as the tournament runs, then download a scalable SVG or print the completed bracket without creating an account.

Common use cases

  • Seed a local sports tournament from an existing ranking
  • Shuffle teams for a casual gaming or office competition
  • Run a 5-, 10-, or 20-player event with automatic byes
  • Print a completed bracket for a noticeboard or save it as a PDF

How to use it

  1. Enter an optional tournament title and one player or team name per line.
  2. Choose seed by input order or shuffle randomly, then select Create bracket.
  3. Choose a round and select the winner of each match to advance them.
  4. After the final, download the SVG or use Print / save PDF to keep the results.

Input and output example

Input: Comets, Otters, and Maples on separate lines, seeded by input order
Output: Comets receive the first-round bye as seed 1. The winner of Otters versus Maples joins Comets in the final. Selecting the final winner fills in the champion.

Important notes

  • Enter 2–32 unique names, each up to 40 characters. Blank lines are ignored, and capitalization alone does not make a name unique.
  • Input order assigns seed 1 to the first entrant. Top seeds are separated into different parts of the bracket and receive byes first.
  • Changing or clearing a winner removes the later results affected by that match. Matches on the other side of the bracket keep their results.
  • This tool supports single elimination. It does not include round robin, double elimination, a third-place playoff, or scorekeeping.
  • Names and results are processed in your browser and disappear on reload or when you leave the page. SVG and PDF exports cannot be imported back to resume a tournament.
  • Printing fits the whole bracket onto one page. For larger brackets, the SVG export lets you zoom in without losing detail.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a bracket for an odd number of players?
Yes. Any count from 2 to 32 works. Unfilled slots up to the next power of two become first-round byes, and the assigned entrants advance automatically.
What happens if I select the wrong winner?
Select the correct winner in the same match or use Clear result. The tool clears the affected later results so that you can enter them again, while preserving unrelated matches.
Can I share the bracket with my players?
Download the SVG and send it, or print the bracket and choose Save as PDF in your browser. Live collaboration and shareable result URLs are not included.
