Estimate a semester GPA from letter grades and course credits using a common 4.0 scale. The calculator weights each course by its credit value, so a four-credit class counts more than a one-credit class. You can also combine this term with a previous cumulative GPA and GPA-credit total. Course information is processed locally without an account.

Important notes
- A+ and A use 4.0 points. P, W, and I are excluded. F contributes zero points but its credits still count.
- The displayed GPA is rounded to three decimal places. Your institution may truncate or round differently.
- Enter up to 30 courses with credits greater than 0 and up to 100 per course, using up to two decimal places.
- Institution-specific repeat replacement, excluded courses, and Honors/AP high-school weighting are not applied. A rounded previous GPA makes the cumulative result an estimate.
Frequently asked questions
- Is GPA a simple average of grade points?
- Only if every course has the same credits. One credit of A and three credits of B give (4×1 + 3×3) / 4 = 3.25.
- Can I calculate a weighted high-school GPA?
- This tool uses a college-style 4.0 scale with credit weighting. It does not add Honors, AP, or IB bonus points or convert from percentage or 4.3 scales.
